The Ulverston Lantern Festival is set for Saturday, 19 September 2026. This year’s theme is ‘Dusk til Dawn’, focusing on nocturnal elements and night time imagery.
The organisers announced the details on 21 March. Encouraging the local community to join in and support the event as they have in past years.
Theme: Dusk til Dawn
The festival theme embraces all things related to the night. Participants are invited to create lanterns inspired by night creatures. Such as owls, foxes, bats, moths, and slugs.
The theme also includes elements like the night sky, stars, moons, and comforting bedtime images like teddies and stories. Representations of memorable nights out in Ulverston are also encouraged.
Community Involvement
The organisers hope the community will once again show strong support for the festival. They invite everyone to get creative with their lantern designs based on the theme.
A spokesperson said, “Get your lantern thinking caps on and we’ll see you out there.”
Workshops and Kit Sales
More information about lantern kits and workshops will be out later in the year. This will help people prepare for the festival and bring their ideas to life.
