Arrest made in Barrow following reports of anti-social e-bike riding
Police have made an arrest in Barrow after reports of anti-social behaviour involving e-bike riders.
Officers from the neighbourhood policing team detained a suspect as part of an investigation into criminal damage to a vehicle on Andrew’s Way in Barrow. An e-bike linked to the incident has also been seized.
Police respond to growing complaints
According to police, there has been an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour involving e-bikes in Barrow this month.
Concerns raised by residents include dangerous riding on roads and behaviour linked to damage to vehicles and property.
Sergeant Jack Hart, from Barrow’s neighbourhood policing team, said tackling the issue is a priority for local officers.
He said the anti-social use of e-bikes and related offences are an important concern for communities across the town.
Bike seized as part of investigation
Police confirmed that the e-bike connected to the incident has now been seized.
Sergeant Hart said the action should serve as a warning to anyone riding bikes in an illegal or dangerous manner.
He added that officers will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach, targeting riders who commit offences and speaking directly with parents where young people are involved.

Police are asking members of the public to report any incidents involving dangerous or anti-social use of e-bikes.
