Barrow man jailed after police seize up to £20,000 of cocaine

A Barrow man has been jailed after police found cocaine, cannabis and more than £2,000 in cash during a raid.

Bailey Dutton, 20, was sentenced to 45 months in prison at Preston Crown Court for possessing Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply.

Police raided Manchester Street property

Officers carried out a warrant at an address on Manchester Street in Barrow on March 27, 2026.

Dutton was found inside the property during the search.

Police also discovered a large vacuum bag containing traces of cannabis. A specialist drugs dog was then brought in to search the address.

Cocaine found in bags and boxes

The drugs dog uncovered further amounts of cannabis, along with bags and boxes containing cocaine.

Officers also seized more than £2,000 in cash.

Police estimated that the cocaine had a street value of between £16,000 and £20,000.

Dutton was already on licence

At the time of the raid, Dutton was already on licence following an earlier prison sentence.

He had been jailed for three years in 2025 for previous drug offences.

The latest offences therefore took place after his release from that sentence and while he remained subject to licence conditions.

Police say Barrow is safer

A spokesperson for Westmorland and Furness Community and Serious Organised Crime Unit said officers were committed to bringing Dutton before the courts.

Police said evidence of his drug dealing was uncovered during the search of his home.

The spokesperson added that Class A drug supply causes serious harm to families and communities and said Barrow would be safer while Dutton was in prison.

Raid formed part of Operation Alliance

The investigation was carried out under Operation Alliance.

The operation is Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to serious and organised crime across the county.

It targets people involved in activities including drug supply, money laundering and organised criminal networks.
