Barrow’s big summer transport show in 2026 festival
Vehicle owners can now sign up for the Barrow Festival of Transport 2026. With the popular town centre event set to return on Saturday, July 18th.
The festival will run from 10am to 4.30pm and is expected to bring a wide range of vehicles, entertainment and family friendly activities into the heart of Barrow. The event is also free to attend, making it an easy day out for residents and visitors.
Organisers say the festival will once again celebrate transport of all kinds. From classic cars and motorcycles to buses, trucks and electric vehicles.
Vehicles will be spread across Barrow town centre
Different parts of the town will be used to showcase different types of vehicles throughout the day.
Dalton Road is expected to feature classic and vintage cars, while Portland Walk will host motorcycles. Scott Street will be used for electric vehicles and bicycles. Giving visitors the chance to see both older and newer forms of transport in one event.
Other vehicles due to appear across the town include:
- scooters
- buses
- campers
- trucks
- emergency vehicles
The mix of displays is designed to show how transport has changed over the years. While also giving enthusiasts plenty to explore.
Registration now open for owners
Vehicle owners who want to take part in the 2026 festival can now register to showcase their vehicles.
That means local owners of classic, vintage or unusual vehicles now have the chance to be part of one of Barrow’s best known transport events. With the festival still months away, the opening of registration marks the start of preparations for what is expected to be another busy day in the town centre.
More than just a car show
While the vehicles are the main attraction, the Barrow Festival of Transport is set to offer much more than static displays.
Visitors can also expect a range of entertainment and activities across the day. Including funfair rides, ride-on vehicles, two exhibitor arenas, and street entertainers. A live stage is also planned, with local acts due to perform.
That broader programme helps make the event appealing not just to vehicle enthusiasts, but to families and anyone looking for something to do in Barrow over the summer.
Free event expected to draw crowds
With no entry charge, the festival is likely to attract strong interest from across Barrow and the wider area.
Events like this often bring extra footfall into the town centre while giving people a chance to enjoy a free community day out. The combination of classic vehicles, modern transport, live entertainment and family activities means there should be something for all ages.
For many, the event is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the vehicles themselves, with transport displays spread through the town helping create a festival feel throughout the day.
A summer date for the diary
The Barrow Festival of Transport 2026 will take place on Saturday, July 18, from 10am until 4.30pm, in Barrow town centre.
With registration now open and a full day of displays and entertainment planned, the event looks set to be one of the town’s standout summer attractions once again.
