Charming Entertainment will stage the classic pantomime Sleeping Beauty at Barrow Town Hall from December 9th to January 2nd. This marks a return to a central location after last year’s performance at Chetwynde School.

Return to a Central Venue

The Barrow Panto has been a cherished part of the Christmas season for many years. Following the closure of the Forum in May 2025, the team sought a new venue. The Town Hall’s Banqueting Room has been equipped with a full theatre setup, making it an ideal choice for the production.

Artistic Vision

Artistic director Joe Purdy expressed enthusiasm for the Town Hall’s historic architecture. He believes it enhances the magical experience of Sleeping Beauty. The production promises a unique twist with plenty of singing, dancing, and humour.

Cast and Performers

The cast features well-known actors from previous productions, including Dame Tyler Marlow. Local talents such as Julie Edwards, Emily Dodd, Ryan Grainger, and Steve Low will also join the performance.

Community Excitement

Joanne Marwood, Cultural Venues and Programming Manager for Westmorland and Furness Council, shared her excitement about the return of the Barrow Panto. She noted its significance in the community and the festive spirit it brings.

Ticket Information

Tickets will be available at the Town Hall box office and online starting at 12pm on Saturday, May 9th. A special launch event will allow families to meet characters from the show and engage in Sleeping Beauty-themed arts and crafts.
