What the figures show
The figures show that Barrow Central and Hindpool remains the busiest area for recorded crime among the local neighbourhoods covered.
The wider Ulverston area had the second-highest number of crimes, followed by Barrow Island and Walney, then Dalton.
However, the same pattern appears across each area. Violence and sexual offences were the most common reports in every neighbourhood.
This does not mean every offence involved serious violence. The category is broad and can include a range of offences, from harassment and common assault to more serious incidents.
Important note on the data
Police.uk crime figures are useful for showing local patterns, but they do not show every detail of each incident. Crime locations are also anonymised, so the data gives a general picture rather than exact addresses.
