Man knocked unconscious during racially aggravated attack in Barrow Park
Police are investigating after a man was struck with an object and knocked unconscious during a racially aggravated attack in Barrow Park.
The assault happened at around 7.30pm on Sunday, July 12.
Cumbria Police said the victim, who is from Barrow, was approached and attacked inside the park. An item was allegedly used to strike him, causing him to lose consciousness.
Derogatory language was also reportedly directed at the victim during the incident. Police are therefore treating the assault as racially aggravated.
Teenage suspect believed to have been riding a bicycle
Officers are now trying to identify a teenage boy in connection with the attack.
He has been described as a slim white male in his mid to late teens with short, dark hair.
At the time of the assault, he was reportedly wearing jeans or shorts and no top. He was also said to have been riding a bicycle.
Police have not confirmed what object was allegedly used or provided further details about the victim’s injuries.
They said the incident was being thoroughly investigated.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the attack, noticed a teenager matching the description or has other information that could help identify the suspect.
