Kitten Found Abandoned
Cumbria Police said the kitten had been found abandoned in Appleby.
Officers made sure she was safe and arranged for her to be checked by animal welfare professionals.
The force later shared an update online, introducing the kitten as “Eden” and describing her as the newest addition to the Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Given a New Home
After her checks, the kitten was taken home by Sergeant Phil.
Police said she will now live with another kitten, giving her company as she settles into her new home.
The update has been warmly received online, with many people praising officers for helping the animal.
Reminder to Seek Help
The rescue is a reminder that unwanted animals should never be abandoned.
Anyone who can no longer care for a pet should contact a rescue centre, vet, animal charity or local authority for advice.
Abandoning a young animal can put it at serious risk, especially if it is too small to look after itself.
In this case, the kitten was found, checked and safely rehomed.
