Cyclist seriously injured in Cleator Moor crash
A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision involving a car in Cleator Moor.
The crash happened on Keekle Terrace at around 4.45pm on Friday, July 3.
It involved the cyclist and a white Kia car. Both had been travelling from Cleator in the direction of Hensingham before the collision.
Cyclist taken to hospital
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries which required hospital treatment.
Cumbria Police has not released further details about his condition.
Driver arrested after collision
The driver of the Kia was a 39-year-old man from Whitehaven.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.
Police said he was later released under investigation while officers continued their enquiries.
Police appeal for witnesses and footage
Officers are asking anyone who saw the crash, or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
They would also like to hear from motorists who may have relevant dashcam footage.
