What Spectators and Locals Need to Know
Thousands of bikers are expected to ride into Barrow-in-Furness on Saturday, June 20, 2026, for the final Dave Day.

This year’s ride is expected to be the last Dave Day event in the town. It will see motorcyclists travel from Ace Café London to Barrow. With planned stops along the way before reaching Dave’s home town later in the afternoon.

From there, riders will make the final stretch into Barrow.
Where Can People Watch the Ride?
Large crowds are expected to line parts of the route as the bikers arrive in Furness.
The final approach into Barrow is expected to be one of the busiest parts of the day. Previous spectator guidance for Dave Day has highlighted the route into Barrow from the A590. With riders entering the town and heading towards the Town Hall area.
Good places to watch may include:
- Along the A590 approach into Barrow, where spectators may see the riders heading towards the town.
- Abbey Road, which is likely to be one of the main routes into Barrow.
- Park Road and nearby town centre approach roads, where crowds are expected to gather.
- The Town Hall area, where the ride is expected to finish at around 3.45pm.
- Safe pavement areas along the route, away from junctions, crossings and road bends.
Anyone planning to watch should choose a safe place on the pavement and avoid stepping into the road.
The Town Hall area is likely to be one of the main gathering points, but it is also expected to be very busy.
Road Closures and Traffic Advice
Locals should expect delays in and around Barrow on June 20. Especially during the afternoon as the bikes make their way into the town.
Road closures are expected around the Town Hall and town centre area. To help manage crowds and keep the event safe. Barrow BID and the local council are acting as the organiser for the arrival of the bike procession.
Road closures and traffic disruption are expected around:
- Barrow Town Hall and the surrounding town centre streets.
- The final approach route into Barrow.
- Abbey Road and nearby connecting roads.
- Park Road and surrounding streets.
- Areas close to the main spectator gathering points.
- Routes leading towards Hindpool, Dalton Road and central Barrow, where traffic may build up.
Drivers should avoid unnecessary journeys through Barrow town centre during the busiest parts of the day. The final arrival period, from mid-afternoon onwards, is expected to cause the most disruption.
Residents are also being reminded not to park illegally or block residential streets, access roads or emergency routes. With thousands of visitors expected, parking is likely to be limited.
Getting to Barrow for Dave Day
Visitors travelling to Barrow are being encouraged to plan their journeys carefully.
Barrow railway station is within walking distance of the town centre. Making the train an ideal option for many spectators. Public transport may help reduce pressure on town centre parking.
Those travelling by car should expect car parks to be busier than normal. Town centre spaces may fill quickly. So visitors should arrive early and be prepared to walk from further away.
Motorcyclists taking part in the organised ride should follow marshal instructions when they arrive in Barrow. Riders should only park where directed and should keep engines off once parked.
Charity Fundraising
Dave Day has raised significant sums for charity since it first began. The 2026 event is expected to continue that fundraising effort, with money supporting Childline and local causes in Barrow.
Organisers said the final ride had already raised thousands of pounds before the event, with many more donations expected as riders and supporters take part.
The event has become a major tribute to Dave Myers and a celebration of his connection to Barrow, biking and community spirit.
A Big Day for Barrow
Dave Day has brought national attention to Barrow over the past few years, with thousands of riders and spectators travelling to the town.
The 2026 event is expected to be emotional for many people, as it marks the final major ride in Dave’s memory.
For spectators, it will be a chance to see a huge motorcycle procession and celebrate the life of one of Barrow’s best-known figures.
For locals, it will also mean a busy town centre, road closures, traffic delays and high demand for parking. But hopefully everyone has time to enjoy the final Dave Day.
