Eight-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital Following Collision
An eight-year-old child was airlifted to hospital after a collision in Kendal.
The crash happened at around 5.45pm on Monday, May 11th, on Well Ings. Police said the incident involved the child and a motor vehicle. The child was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by air ambulance.
Cumbria Police are now investigating the collision and are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage and CCTV from the area.
Officers want to hear from anyone who was on or near Well Ings at the time of the crash. They are also asking drivers who were travelling through the area to check dashcam footage, as it may help with the investigation.
Residents and businesses nearby are also being encouraged to review any CCTV or doorbell camera footage from around 5.45pm on May 11.
Police Appeal for Information
Cumbria Police said they are looking for information that could help officers understand the circumstances of the collision.
The appeal includes anyone who saw the incident itself, as well as anyone who may have seen the child or vehicle in the area before the crash.
Even small details could be useful to investigators. This could include the direction a vehicle was travelling, the movement of traffic at the time, or anything unusual seen in the area.
Police have also provided a link for members of the public to upload CCTV, dashcam or other footage directly.
Collision Happened on Well Ings
Well Ings is close to Kendal town centre and is used by both drivers and pedestrians.
The collision took place during the early evening, when roads can be busier with people travelling home from work, school and other activities.
Police have not released further details about the child’s injuries.
The air ambulance attended the scene and the child was flown to hospital for treatment.
