Farm to Fork Roadshow Returning to Kendal with Live Animals and Local Food
Kendal Farmers’ Market is bringing the popular Farm to Fork Roadshow back to the town centre later this month.
The free event will take place in Kendal Market Place on Friday, July 31, alongside the regular farmers’ market. Visitors will be able to meet live farm animals, learn more about food production and buy goods from more than 30 local traders.
Live Farm Animals in Kendal Town Centre
The roadshow is being organised by Kendal Farmers’ Market in association with the Westmorland County Agricultural Society.
Live animals expected at the event include newly hatched chicks, sheep, lambs and dairy cows with their calves. The aim is to help people understand how farming is connected to the food found in shops, markets and homes.
Visitors will also be able to explore a collection of interactive wooden models. These include Clover the dairy cow, Ditto the lamb, Clarissa the beef cow and Percy the pig.
The models are designed to make learning about farming and food production more engaging, particularly for younger visitors.

Roadshow Returns for Fourth Year
This will be the fourth year that the Farm to Fork Roadshow has visited Kendal.
Marian Graveson, manager of Kendal Farmers’ Market, said the event had become popular with both local residents and visitors.
She said bringing animals into the town centre allowed people to see farming first-hand, ask questions and learn more about how food is produced in the UK.
The event also aims to highlight the importance of supporting local farmers, food makers and independent producers.
More Than 30 Local Traders
Alongside the agricultural displays, more than 30 market stalls will be selling locally produced food, drinks and farm goods.
Traders expected to attend include My Gourmet Mushrooms, Cross Apiary, Bean & Dunne Coffee, Gan Yam Brewery, Lovingly Artisan Bakery, Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheeses and Ginger Bakers.
Kendal Farmers’ Market is normally held in Market Place on the second and final Friday of each month. The market runs between 8am and 3.30pm.
