Five Day Road Closure Planned for Moor Road in Askam
A road through Askam-in-Furness is due to close for five days while work takes place.
Moor Road is expected to close from Tuesday, June 30.
The closure will affect a stretch of around 2.3km between the road’s junction with the A595 and a point further along Moor Road.
Where Will Moor Road Be Closed?
The affected section begins at the junction of Moor Road and the A595.
It then runs in a north-easterly and southerly direction for around 2.3km.
Drivers will not be able to use the closed section while the relevant signs are in place.
The legal order allows the restrictions to remain available for up to 18 months. However, officials expect the actual closure to last for only five days.

- The A595
Motorists travelling through Askam and Ireleth may need to allow extra time for their journeys.
Access for Pedestrians and Cyclists
A route will remain open for pedestrians throughout the work.
Cyclists will also be able to pass through the affected area, although they will need to dismount from their bicycles.
