The Cumbria Yoga Foundation will relaunch its Yoga in the Park sessions starting on April 14th in Ulverston. Additional sessions are scheduled for Askham and Cockermouth on May 6th, and Kendal on June 3rd. These events aim to foster community and enhance well-being.
Purpose of Yoga in the Park
Caroline Robinson, the founder of the Cumbria Yoga Foundation, emphasised the initiative’s goal. She stated that it is about creating a space for individuals to reconnect with themselves and their surroundings. The sessions focus on outdoor yoga, which can be a powerful experience.
Inclusivity and Accessibility
The sessions are designed for all abilities, making them inclusive and pressure-free. Whether someone is new to yoga or returning, there are no expectations. Participants can enjoy simple yoga practices in a welcoming environment.
Equipment and Accessibility
Participants can request equipment if needed, ensuring everyone can join comfortably. All venues will also provide step-free access, making the sessions accessible to all community members.
Focus on Wellbeing
The foundation aims to improve both mental and physical health through these sessions. They are particularly beneficial for those who may spend less time outdoors. The initiative encourages people to step outside, breathe deeply, and engage in positive activities.
Expanded Schedule for 2026
This year’s programme has been expanded to include more locations than last year. Each session supports the broader mission of the Cumbria Yoga Foundation, promoting health and community spirit.
How to Participate
Tickets for the sessions can be obtained from the Cumbria Yoga Foundation’s website. Interested individuals are encouraged to join and experience the benefits of yoga in a natural setting.
