Full of Noises, located in Barrow Park, Cumbria, has been awarded £396,000 from the Government’s Arts Everywhere Fund. This funding will facilitate the redevelopment of the upper floor of its arts centre, transforming it into a sound studio, community workshop, and accommodation for visiting artists.

In addition to creating new spaces, the project will also include the installation of a lift and additional bathroom facilities. Glenn Boulter, the artistic director, expressed his excitement about the funding, stating it will help realise the venue’s original vision.

Recent Achievements

Since its opening, Full of Noises has hosted over 150 concerts and events in 2023 alone. The ground floor was redeveloped earlier this year, allowing for a variety of activities, including concerts, workshops, and cinema screenings.

Support for Artists

The venue plays a crucial role in supporting both international and emerging artists. Recent highlights include a sold-out performance by Laetitia Sadier and a concert featuring Jim White and Marisa Anderson.

Funding Context

Full of Noises is part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio, which provides ongoing financial support. The Arts Everywhere Fund is investing nearly £17 million across 17 cultural organisations in the North West.

Upcoming Events

Looking ahead, Full of Noises has an exciting spring and summer programme planned. Notable upcoming events include a sold-out show by Ex-Easter Island Head on April 25, followed by performances from Jamie Castell and Nathaniel Mann on May 2, and Alison Cotton on June 27.
