Harvey Makin Returns to Barrow Raiders on Short-Term Loan
Barrow Raiders have confirmed the return of forward Harvey Makin, who has joined the club on a short-term loan deal from Wigan Warriors.
The 22-year-old makes his third spell at the club, having previously featured for the Raiders during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Familiar Face Returns
Makin is no stranger to Barrow supporters. During his previous spells, he made 14 appearances and scored his first try for the club in a win over Swinton Lions.
His physical style of play and strong ball carrying quickly made him a popular figure with fans.
Recent Form and Experience
Before returning to Barrow, Makin spent the early part of the 2026 season on loan at Oldham, where he made five appearances and scored once.
He has also gained experience at several other clubs during his career, including:
-
London Broncos
-
Bradford Bulls
-
Salford Red Devils
This experience is expected to add depth and energy to the Raiders’ squad.
Boost for the Squad
Barrow have brought Makin in to strengthen their forward pack, particularly with injuries affecting the squad.
Director of rugby Andy Gaffney said the club is pleased to welcome him back, highlighting his ability to break through defensive lines and make an impact in attack.
The move also reflects the strong relationship between Barrow Raiders and Wigan Warriors, with the loan helping to support the development of young players.
Looking Ahead
Makin’s arrival comes ahead of upcoming fixtures, where he could play a key role in providing cover and adding physical presence on the field.
For Barrow, the short-term deal offers a familiar and proven option as they look to maintain performance levels during a demanding part of the season.
