Kendal Mountain Festival to Host Exclusive Film Night in Keswick

Kendal Mountain Festival is set to host an exclusive film night at the newly refurbished Páramo clothing store in Keswick.

The event, titled Kendal Mountain Festival x Páramo: An Exclusive Director’s Cut with Steve Scott, will take place on Thursday, June 18, from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The evening will raise money for the Lake District Calvert Trust, a charity that helps people with disabilities enjoy outdoor adventure activities.

Festival director Steve Scott will host the event and share a specially selected programme of adventure film clips, rare screenings and behind-the-scenes stories.

What Will Happen at the Event?

The film night will give guests a closer look at the world of adventure filmmaking.

Steve Scott, director of Kendal Mountain Festival, will present a curated selection of memorable clips from his career and from the festival’s wider film archive.

The evening is expected to include rare screenings, personal stories and insights into how outdoor films are made.

It is designed for people who enjoy mountains, adventure, film, storytelling and the outdoors.

Supporting the Lake District Calvert Trust

Money raised from the event will go to the Lake District Calvert Trust.

The charity supports people with disabilities by helping them take part in outdoor adventure experiences.

Its work gives people the chance to try activities that may otherwise feel out of reach, including outdoor challenges in the Lake District.

The event will also include a charity raffle, goody bags and complimentary refreshments.

Steve Scott Returns to Keswick

Steve Scott has spoken about his excitement at returning to Keswick for the event.

The town has personal meaning for him, as it is where his passion for the outdoors began.

As director of Kendal Mountain Festival, he has spent years helping bring adventure stories to audiences through film, events and live talks.

This event will give guests a more intimate look at that work, away from the larger festival setting.

Páramo’s Role in the Community

Páramo has been part of the Keswick community since August 2015.

The outdoor clothing brand recently reopened its refurbished Keswick store and has continued to support local causes and community events.

Its recent community activity has included sponsorship of the Lorton 10k, which supported Lorton Primary School.

Andy Rodger, deputy manager at Páramo’s Keswick store, said the film night was about bringing people together to celebrate adventure storytelling while supporting a meaningful local cause.

A Night for Outdoor Film Fans

The event is expected to appeal to people who enjoy outdoor adventure, mountain culture and film.

Kendal Mountain Festival is known for showcasing powerful stories from the world of climbing, running, cycling, paddling, mountaineering and exploration.

This smaller film night gives audiences a chance to experience that spirit in a more personal setting.

Rather than a full festival programme, the event will focus on selected clips and stories chosen by Steve Scott.

Raising Money Through Adventure Storytelling

The film night combines three important local themes: outdoor culture, community support and accessible adventure.

By raising funds for the Lake District Calvert Trust, the event will help support people who may face barriers to taking part in outdoor activities.

It also gives Keswick’s outdoor community a chance to come together for an evening of film, conversation and fundraising.
