InstaVolt has recently installed ten ultra-rapid EV chargers at Hindpool Retail Park in Barrow. These 160kW chargers will enable local drivers to charge their electric vehicles while shopping or dining. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote renewable energy and make charging more accessible.
Location and Accessibility
The chargers are strategically located off the A590, a busy traffic corridor that attracts around three million visitors annually. Hindpool Retail Park features well-known retailers such as Next, The Range, Costa, and Burger King, making it a convenient spot for drivers to charge their vehicles.
Convenience for Drivers
Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, emphasised the importance of installing chargers in high-traffic areas. He stated that these charging opportunities allow EV drivers to manage their errands efficiently. This initiative aims to integrate charging seamlessly into daily routines.
24/7 Availability and Payment Options
The new chargers are available around the clock, ensuring that drivers can charge their vehicles at any time. There is no subscription required, and the chargers support contactless payments, making the process straightforward for users.

Off-Peak Charging Rates
For added savings, InstaVolt offers an off-peak charging rate of 55p per kWh. This rate is available from 8pm to 7am, encouraging drivers to take advantage of lower costs during less busy hours.
