Norrie Tago MacIver, a celebrated folk singer and former lead of the Scottish band Skipinnish, will perform at Barrow Town Hall on Thursday, July 30th. Known for his powerful voice and deep connection to Gaelic traditions, MacIver has captivated audiences across Scotland.
Originally from Carloway on the Isle of Lewis, MacIver now resides in Fife. He gained prominence during his nine years with Skipinnish, where he played at iconic venues such as the Barrowlands and Edinburgh Castle.
Solo Career
In addition to his work with Skipinnish, MacIver has released two solo albums. He also collaborated with the Glasgow Barons on an album titled Songs of Govan Old, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
Awards and Recognition
MacIver’s contributions to music have earned him multiple accolades at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards. Notably, he was named Gaelic Singer of the Year in both 2011 and 2025.
