This week, multiple planning applications have been submitted in Barrow. Covering various residential and environmental projects. These include house extensions, tree maintenance in conservation areas, and infrastructure for the King Charles III England Coast Path.

Residential Extensions

Several homeowners have proposed extensions to enhance their living spaces. For instance, at 1 Avocet Crescent, a single-storey extension is planned to replace an existing conservatory. This project has already received approval for a lower ground floor car port.

At High Meadow on Tantabank Road, a rear and side flat roof extension is proposed. This includes demolishing the current conservatory and adding a new extension with a side window and sliding glass doors at the rear.

Tree Works in Conservation Areas

Tree maintenance is also on the agenda, with an application at 122 Market Street for works on a copper beech and a maple tree. The plans involve reducing their height by up to 1.5 metres, adhering to the standards set out in BS3998.

Infrastructure Developments

In addition to residential projects, a significant infrastructure proposal has been made for Sowerby Woods. A 20-metre bridge is planned to cross the valley, facilitating the approved route of the King Charles III England Coast Path.

Other Notable Applications

Other applications include a single-storey extension at 8 Hornedale Avenue to create additional habitable space and a proposal at 59 Furness Park Road to create a kitchen diner by knocking through existing walls and extending the porch.
