Man arrested after drugs and suspected stolen property found in Kendal search
A man has been arrested after police searched an address in Kendal and found suspected controlled drugs.
Officers also seized several items which they believe may have been stolen, including bicycles.
The man was later released while police continue their investigation.
Police carried out drugs warrant
Kendal officers attended the property and carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Controlled drugs were located during the search, according to South Lakes Police.
A man at the address was arrested in connection with the discovery. Police have not released his name or confirmed what type or quantity of drugs were found.
Bikes among property seized
Officers also recovered a number of items which are suspected of being stolen.
These included bicycles, although police have not yet confirmed how many were seized or where they may have been taken from.
The property will now be checked as part of the continuing investigation. Officers may compare serial numbers and other identifying details with previous reports of theft.
Man released as enquiries continue
The arrested man has since been released while police carry out further enquiries.
Being released during an investigation does not mean the case has ended. Officers may still examine the seized drugs, property and any electronic devices recovered during the search.
No charges have been announced at this stage.
Police appeal over suspected stolen items
Anyone who has recently had a bicycle or other property stolen in Kendal should make sure the incident has been reported to police.
Providing photographs, receipts, frame numbers or unique markings can help officers identify an item and return it to its owner.
