Vehicle Was Already Abandoned

Safety Concerns at Coastal Site

The Slag Bank is a coastal area in Workington and includes steep drops in places.

Incidents like this can still create risks for the public, emergency services and anyone involved in recovering the vehicle.

Damaged fencing can also increase the danger if people go near the edge.

Public Urged to Avoid Risk

People are being urged not to go near dangerous cliff edges or unstable ground.

Even when a vehicle is abandoned, moving or pushing it can cause serious danger to others and may lead to emergency services being called out.
