Utility works will result in several road closures in Barrow and Ulverston beginning May 5. These closures are expected to affect traffic for varying durations.
Details of the Closures
Heather Bank in Barrow will be closed from its junction with Mulberry Way for approximately one week. Unfortunately, there are no alternative routes available for drivers during this period.
Wilkie Road Closure
Wilkie Road, also in Barrow, will be closed from its junction with A590 Walney Road for about three days. Motorists can detour via Devonshire Road, Holker Street, Abbey Road, Duke Street, and A590 Walney Road.
Hillside Road Closure
In Ulverston, Hillside Road near house number eight is scheduled to close for around three days starting May 5. Similar to Heather Bank, there are no alternative routes for this closure.
Traffic Management
The council has confirmed that the road closures will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed. This is to ensure that drivers are adequately informed of the changes.
