7 Months of Road Closures in Barrow from April 27th

Westmorland and Furness Council has announced significant road closures in Barrow, set to commence on April 27. These restrictions will last for approximately seven months, as indicated by traffic signs in the area. While vehicles will not be allowed on certain roads, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists can still access them.

Affected Roads

The following roads will be impacted by the closures:

  • Lyndale Avenue: Closed from its junction with Jesmond Avenue for about 240 metres. No diversion route is available.
  • North Row and Stonedyke Lane: Closed from their junction with Leece Lane for about 690 metres. Alternative route: Leece Lane and A5087 Rampside Road.
  • Keyes Street: Closed from its junction with Exmouth Street for its entire length. Alternative route: Exmouth Street, Keyes Street, and Nelson Street.
  • Emlyn Street: Closed from its junction with High Street for its entire length. Alternative route: High Street, Manchester Street, and Buccleuch Street.
  • South View: Closed from its junction with Highfield Road for its entire length. Alternative route: Victoria Avenue, Devonshire Road, and Highfield Road.
  • Dundalk Street: Closed from its junction with Dunbar Street for its entire length. Alternative route: Dunbar Street, Island Road, and Rothesay Street.
