Westmorland and Furness Council has announced road closures in Barrow starting Monday, March 30. The closures will affect Cheltenham Street and Park Drive for approximately seven weeks. These measures are to facilitate traffic management works on Abbey Road.
Details of the Road Closures
The closure on Cheltenham Street will extend about 50 metres northwest from its junction with Abbey Road. Similarly, Park Drive will be closed for around 50 metres southeast from its junction with Abbey Road. Both closures will prevent access to these road sections.
Restrictions and Impact
During the closure period, all traffic including vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists will be prohibited from using the affected parts of Cheltenham Street and Park Drive. This is to ensure safety and allow the works to proceed without interruption.
Alternative Routes
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to use the alternative route provided. This route includes Settle Street, Ainslie Street, Abbey Road, Greengate Street, Rawlinson Street, and the open sections of Cheltenham Street and Park Drive.
