Ulverston firefighters organised a charity car wash event that successfully raised a total of £836 for two local causes. The event was held at the Ulverston Blue Light Hub and saw strong community participation.
The funds raised were split between the Fire Fighters Charity and Ulverston in Bloom, supporting both firefighter welfare and local environmental efforts.
Charity Car Wash Event
The car wash took place on Sunday, March 8, and was run by the Amber Watch crew from the Ulverston fire station. The team was joined by Group Manager Owen McCarney, who helped oversee the event.
Throughout the day, the firefighters washed numerous vehicles, with donations collected for the Fire Fighters Charity, which supports the health and wellbeing of fire service personnel and their families.
Supporting Local Causes
In addition to raising £736 for the Fire Fighters Charity, the event also generated £100 for Ulverston in Bloom. This group maintains a garden at the Ulverston fire station, contributing to the beautification and community spirit of the area.
The combined efforts of the firefighters and the community helped make the event a success, demonstrating the commitment of the Ulverston fire service to both charitable work and local environmental initiatives.
